Canon Update City of Sin, post Endgame

PLAYER: Beth
CHARACTER: Steve Rogers
SERIES: MCU
CURRENT CANON POINT:End of Infinity War, + CRAU from his previous stay in the City
NEW CANON POINT: Post Tony Stark's funeral in Avengers Endgame, but before he comes back from returning the stones.
DETAILS:- Steve will arrive in his own time, 23 days after the Snap, going through the motions of daily life while still firmly stuck on Thanos and the battle.

-Tony returns from space and he thinks they have a chance of getting everyone back, but it turned out that Thanos had destroyed them, leaving them with no other option but to move on. Tony, still reeling from his ordeal called him a liar and that they lost.

-Five years have passed and Steve has started a support group for those who survived the snap. He spends his time, counseling and checking on Natasha at the compound, making sure that everyone is coping to the best of their ability despite the fact that he is not coping at all.

-He and Tomy come to terms eventually and with Tony's help, they figured out time travel. Steve got his original shield back and promised Tony they would do whatever it takes to not change the past five years. Steve is not one to jump into something without something concrete, so they planned. 3 stones in NY 2012, Voramir 2014 and Asgard 2013. Easy right? WRONG.

-After the Hulk blew the plan out of the water, by literally crashing through a wall, it was up to Steve and Tony to go back to 1970 and get the Tesseract and more particles since both the Tesseract and the particles were in a shield base.

There are loses that come with War, and Steve was no stranger to war. He didn't feel prepared to lose Natasha, however, even though he knew that the Avengers were the only family that she had. He needed to do right by her and they needed to defeat Thanos and defeat him they did, but the price was high.

When Steve returns to the City he will be shaken to be sure, but he will also understand how precious and short life is, even for a man out of time. He opened up more about his past while he was home, so he will be more open when he returns. Returning to the City, he will take Tony's advice and get a life. Steve's relationships in the City will become even more precious to him because he knows life is fleeting and it can change with a snap.

Canon Update City of Sin, post Post Infinity War

It had been two years since Steve “borrowed” a Quinjet and freed his captured friends from confinement. It was after all, partially his fault they were all there in thee first place. Sam, ever the loyal St. Bernard, followed Steve in his vigilantism along with Wanda and Natasha. Steve made the choices he did because of his friendship with Bucky, and those decisions had a ripple effect for the rest of his team.

He is a patient man and doesn’t begrudge any of his teammates some modicum of happiness even with the situation that they all find themselves in. Steve is aware of the connection that Wanda and Vision share and is always aware of where his team is in the world. He sent Tony a phone and part of him wanted Tony to call, but a larger part knew that he wouldn’t.

The phone call from Bruce gave Steve and his team a purpose again, one that had been missing. He is protective of Wanda and Vision, being the youngest members of his team. “No one gets left behind” is something that Steve truly believes in and he doesn’t even entertain the thought of sacrificing Vision to stop Thanos.

Steve admires Rhodes’s moxie in standing up to General Ross and Steve was reunited all be it briefly with his former friends.

Let’s not forget about Thanos, however, Steve, I don’t believe truly understood the gravity of the situation they found themselves in until the very end when it looked like they were defeated. He watched his best friend die before his eyes and the simple “Oh God” that he uttered will continue to resonate when he returns to the City.

As far as who Steve will be when he returns to the city is simple. He has suffered the pain of loss on many levels, multiple times, so he might be quiet and introspective for a little while. This is also not the first time he has traveled home or returned to the City. I, as a player, like the fact that he is so determined to do the right thing. He will come back to the city, determined to help people in a way that he couldn’t back home. He is going to be more protective of those people that he has come to care about in the City. I am really looking forward to playing out Steve’s reactions to what happened in Wauconda and how that will affect his relationships in the City.
